The Farias family supplied all the personnel for Tejano outfit La Tropa F, with Joe covering bajo sexto and vocals, David delivering lead vocals and accordion, Juan on drums, Jaime handling keyboards, Jesse playing bass, and Jesse Jr. adding percussion. Several prior releases already existed when the group joined the Manny Music roster in 1990 and achieved its first major success with the chart-topping single “Mil Noches.” Recognition arrived in 1992 when La Tropa F received the “Best Local Conjunto” prize at the debut “Pura Vida” Hispanic Music Awards; the following year the ensemble claimed the committee’s “Best Conjunto” honor and also earned “Conjunto of the Year” at the 13th Annual Tejano Music Awards. The group’s catalog encompasses the 1994 album Culturas, 1995’s Hermanos Hasta El Fin, 1996’s A Un Nuevo Nivel, 1997’s Musica Sin Frontera, and 1998’s Desde el Corazon de Texas.
