David Lee Garza

Formed in Texas during the closing years of the 1980s, the Tejano ensemble David Lee Garza Y Los Musicales came together under the leadership of accordionist Garza, who assembled a lineup that included family members such as drummer Adam Garza, bassist Richard Garza, and guitarist Armando De La Garza, along with saxophonist Oscar Montemayor and multi-instrumentalist William O'Rourke. Making his debut on the Capitol label in 1991, David Lee Garza issued upwards of twelve albums across a span of fewer than five years. Additional recordings appeared on Hacienda Records, and his ensemble served as the launchpad for country/Tejano singer Emilio, who performed alongside Garza in the early 1990s prior to establishing the band Rio.
