Siggno, also called Grupo Siggno, formed in 2000 in Santa Rosa, Texas, and developed a forward-leaning style of Tejano music that incorporates mandolins, keyboards, traditional accordion, bajo sexto, and drums while blending conjunto traditions with roots rock, folk, blues, R&B, and regional Tex-Mex elements. Although Por Amor earned a BMI Music Award plus the group’s initial Latin Grammy nomination in 2002, commercial chart traction arrived only after several years. Capitulo from 2007 and Six Pack the next year both received Latin Grammy nods, yet only the latter managed to register on the Top Latin Albums list. En La Radio, released in 2009, became Siggno’s first project to appear on the Regional Mexican Albums chart. Yo Te Esperare finally delivered the band’s maiden number-one placement on Top Latin Albums in 2016, following earlier peaks at the summit of Regional Mexican Albums by En Vivo in 2014 and Zodiacal in 2015.

Jesse Turner handles lead vocals and accordion, Joey Flores supplies background vocals and bajo sexto, Joseph Charles Scott plays electric bass, Fabian Navarette covers drums, David Rosas manages congas and percussion, and Sergio Tabares serves as MC. The group’s first full-length release, Al Principio, appeared on Crown Records in 2001 and yielded the hit single “Pero Hablame,” prompting a follow-up Crown project, Por Amor, in 2002. After signing with Serca Music, Siggno issued Caminando in 2005, then moved to Freddie Records for Amor y Dolor in 2006, which featured the hit single “Mejor Dimelo.” Subsequent Freddie releases Capitulo 5 in 2007 and Six Pack in 2008 earned Latin Grammy nominations. En La Radio reached number 19 on the Mexican Albums Charts in 2009 and landed inside the Top 40 of Top Latin Albums, while Que Harias the following year charted lower. Stronger results returned in 2012 with Lo Que Me Dejaste and the compilation Nuestra Historia, which helped drive sold-out performances across Mexico and the United States. El Mundo Se Acabo climbed to number four on Top Latin Albums in 2013. Zodiacal then peaked at number two on that same chart in 2015, and Yo Te Esperare claimed the top spot in 2016; both albums also led the Mexican Regional Albums list and related streaming rankings. Following an extensive period of touring and songwriting, the band spent eighteen months in the studio and delivered Monstruo in fall 2018. The album quickly ascended to the top of Latin Albums streaming charts, with all three of its singles also reaching number one.
