Bobby Pulido

Bobby Pulido, whose father is the enduring Tejano icon Roberto Pulido, fuses classic Tejano rhythms with the country influences that shaped his Texas upbringing. From his base in Edinburg, he and his ensemble—guitarist Gilbert Trejo, bassist Mike Fox, drummer Jimmy Montes, accordionist Frank Caballero, and keyboard player Rey Gutierrez—issued the 1996 Capitol release Desvelado. That platinum-certified project was succeeded the same year by Ensename. His peak achievement arrived via the third album, Llegaste a Mi Vida, issued in 1997. At the Tejano Music Awards that year, he claimed Album of the Year, Male Entertainer, Male Vocalist, and Best Video. The live set Live surfaced twelve months afterward, while Zona de Peligro marked his return in spring 2000.
