Biography
Reviving the most incisive punk rock edges, the Langhorns fuse a revitalized, propulsive style that merges surf music textures with rockabilly accents. Formed in Sweden during 1995, the band began as a duo comprising guitarist Michael Sellers and bassist Martin Berglund. After their initial sessions together, the pair recruited drummer Rikard Swardh, thereby establishing the lineup as a trio. Over the subsequent two years the group performed numerous live dates and built steady visibility in the regional underground, thanks largely to the force of their stage presence. In 1997 the Langhorns recorded their debut with producer Magnus Borjesson. February 1998 saw the self-titled album Langhorns issued on the Bad Taste label. Following its release the band undertook an extensive run of concerts throughout Sweden. A year and many shows later they unveiled their second studio album, Club Gabardino, which by then had cemented the group’s cult standing not only domestically but across Europe.
