Larry June merges elements from his West Coast origins with his formative years in Atlanta to shape a rap approach that balances raw intensity against a languid, ethereal polish. Throughout the 2010s he maintained steady output, his relaxed cadence paired with bright production appearing across assorted mixtapes and studio albums such as the 2020 joint release Keep Going with Harry Fraud and the 2022 project Spaceships on the Blade. The Great Escape, a complete album created with the Alchemist, surfaced in 2023 and was succeeded by singles alongside Slum Village and Knucks plus the Cardo partnership The Night Shift; the solo album Doing It for Me arrived in 2024.

Born in San Francisco in 1991, June moved to Atlanta at age four and thereafter divided his time between the two cities, passing summers with his father in the Bay Area while absorbing Southern culture and sound for the remainder of each year. He started rapping and self-producing at age eight, issuing his debut mixtape by 15. As he matured, June committed fully to music, expanding his audience via consistent social-media activity before touring alongside established artists including Asher Roth, Post Malone, and Cousin Stizz.

Following multiple self-released mixtapes, the rapper joined Warner Bros. After several singles and projects such as the 2015 mixtape #GoodJobLarry, he delivered the EP Larry in summer 2016, which broadened his reach. Subsequent releases included the mixtapes Orange Season and Larry 2 before the more developed collection You're Doing Good appeared in March 2018. Output continued at an intense pace, with six mixtapes and studio albums issued across 2019, among them the Cardo collaboration Mr. Midnight and the vintage-styled Product of the Dope Game. Momentum held steady into 2020, highlighted by the atmospheric Berner joint Cooks & Orange Juice and the Billboard Heatseekers-charting mixtape Keep Going with Harry Fraud, which featured Dom Kennedy and Curren$y. The full-length Orange Print emerged in June 2021 and reached number 125 on the Billboard 200; it was followed by the EP Into the Late Night with Cardo and the 2022 release 2 P'z in a Pod with Jay Worthy. Spaceships on the Blade, issued in fall 2022, marked his first solo album to enter the Billboard 200 Top 40.

In 2023 he partnered with the Alchemist on the full-length The Great Escape, which included verses from Big Sean, Action Bronson, Boldy James, Slum Village, and additional guests, becoming his second Top 40 entry. He then appeared on singles by Slum Village featuring the Dramatics, Curren$y, Knucks, and others. The complete Cardo collaboration The Night Shift followed, incorporating appearances from 2 Chainz, DeJ Loaf, the Alchemist in a rapping role, ScHoolboy Q, and further contributors. The full-length Doing It for Me was released in 2024, featuring production from Harry Fraud, Jake One, Cookin' Soul, and additional beatmakers.
