Biography
Hailing from New York, Meyhem Lauren has long operated within East Coast rap networks through partnerships with Action Bronson, DJ Muggs, Harry Fraud, and additional figures. Beyond recordings he appeared as a recurring guest on Bronson's cooking series Fuck, That's Delicious while steadily expanding a catalog that includes numerous mixtapes alongside studio projects such as the 2017 release Gems from the Equinox.
Raised in Queens, Lauren absorbed the foundational sounds of early East Coast hip-hop and first appeared on wax at age fifteen by contributing a verse to J-Love's 2004 cut "King of What I Do." Additional features followed, culminating in the expansive 2007 double album Acknowledge Greatness issued jointly with J-Love.
His first solo full-length, Self-Induced Illness, arrived in 2011. Ties with Action Bronson strengthened early, producing tracks including "Typhoon Rap" as Bronson's profile rose. Once the food-travel series Fuck, That's Delicious premiered in 2016, Lauren featured prominently across episodes. Steady live appearances and studio output yielded further mixtapes plus the more polished albums Piatto d'Oro in 2016 and Terminal Illness in 2017. That same year he joined forces with production veteran DJ Muggs on Gems from the Equinox. In 2018 he paired with Harry Fraud for the mixtape Glass while also delivering Frozen Angels, another joint effort with DJ Muggs. Subsequent mixtape releases continued with Raw Cashmere and its sequel More Cashmere in 2019, followed by the second installment of his Harry Fraud collaborations, Glass 2.0, in 2020.
