Leo Jaime championed the Brazilian rockabilly sound during the 1980s. Joining the pop/rock ensemble João Penca e Seus Miquinhos Amestrados upon its formation in 1981, he contributed to backing Eduardo Dusek on a pair of albums: Cantando No Banheiro, which featured Jaime's composition "Rock da Cachorra" as one of 1983's major successes, along with Brega-chique. Departing the group that same year, Jaime launched his individual path. Among his compositions and performances that became prominent in Brazilian rock were "As Sete Vampiras," serving as the theme for the film of the same name where he made an appearance, "Sessão Da Tarde," "Gatinha Manhosa," "Conquistador Barato," and "Sônia." His discography encompasses Phoda C from 1984, Sessão Da Tarde released in 1985, Vida Difícil in 1986, Direto Do Meu Coração Pro Seu from 1988, Avenida Das Ilusões in 1989, Sexo, Drops & Rock'n'Roll appearing in 1990, and Todo Amor in 1995.
