Les Discrets

Les Discrets, a French post-metal ensemble conceived and overseen by multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, visual artist, and filmmaker Fursy Teyssier, moves past conventional metal boundaries through an atmospheric fusion of post-rock and blackened shoegaze. Teyssier launched the project in 2003 while still playing in Phest and working as a sought-after illustrator. The lineup later grew to a trio once vocalist Audrey Hadorn and drummer Winterhalter joined; the latter also performs with Alcest and had previously worked with Teyssier in Amesoeurs. Prophecy Productions signed Les Discrets in 2009, resulting in a split EP with Alcest. Their first full-length album, Septembre et Ses Dernières Pensées, appeared in 2010 and was followed by Ariettes Oubliées in 2012. Winterhalter and live bassist Neige exited in 2013 to devote themselves to Alcest, yet Teyssier and Hadorn kept the band active and issued its third studio album, Prédateurs, in early 2017.
