A Forest Of Stars

England's A Forest of Stars, though generally categorized within black metal, integrate outside influences drawn from folk traditions, avant-garde sound design, and psychedelic art rock to shape a singular identity of their own. The group came together in 2007, its founding lineup consisting of Mister Curse on vocals, Katheryne, Queen of the Ghosts—also known as Kati Stone of My Dying Bride, who supplied violin, flute, and vocals—the Gentleman handling synths, pianoforte, and drums, plus Mr. T.S. Kettleburner on guitar, bass, and vocals. Their first release arrived the following year as the limited-edition album The Corpse of Rebirth, initially pressed in just 1,000 copies before a broader reissue appeared via the Transcendental Creations label.
