Biography
Christopher Moore, a ten-year-old native of Texas performing as Lil Twist, landed a regional pop-rap success in the Dallas area during 2003 with the track “Texas Twist.” The stage name persisted even as a few years slipped by before further progress occurred, which came when he approached Lil Wayne at a concert and won over the multi-platinum rapper as a protégé. Early in 2010, after joining Wayne’s Young Money roster, Moore released his label debut “The Leak” featuring Wayne, his first single to appear on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. The next year brought inclusion in XXL magazine’s annual Freshman Class alongside a second charting release, “Love Affair,” again aided by Wayne. In 2012 “Turn’t Up” featuring Busta Rhymes reached the charts, though the intended debut album Don’t Get It Twisted ultimately went unreleased. Over the ensuing period Moore collaborated with Mindless Behavior and Soulja Boy, appeared on the Young Money compilation Rise of an Empire, and maintained a steady output of mixtapes.
