Loch Vostok

Originating in Uppsala, Sweden, the progressive metal group Loch Vostok assembled in 2001 under vocalist and guitarist Teddy Möller, who had previously handled drums in the stylistically similar Mayadome. He arrived with keyboardist Sebastian Okupski and completed the initial roster by adding second guitarist Niklas Kupper, bassist Tomas Jonsson, and drummer Alvaro Torres. The band signed with Magnetism Records, which issued the debut album Dark Logic in 2004. Blending thrash, prog, and power metal with alternating clean and growled vocals, the record received largely positive reviews and opened the door to a contract with Escapi Music ahead of the 2006 follow-up Destruction Time Again!, which introduced keyboardist Fredrik Klingwall.
