Mandy, Indiana craft severe and jarring post-punk shaped by industrial dance music together with gritty art films. Valentine Caulfield supplies striking lyrics entirely in French that often examine misogyny and power dynamics. The band put out their well-received debut EP in 2021 before broadening their inventive, danceable approach on the 2023 album i've seen a way.

Formed in Manchester by Valentine Caulfield and Scott Fair after their prior projects had shared bills at local venues, the group gained percussion from Liam Stewart, who had toured with LoneLady and helped shape its dissonant, driving character. Recording sessions began in 2019, yielding several singles in 2020. Fire Talk released the debut EP titled ... in 2021, which featured remixes by Daniel Avery and Club Eat. Adding drummer Alex Macdougall and synthesizer player Simon Catling, Mandy, Indiana tracked vocals and instrumentation inside unconventional sites such as a Bristol shopping mall, a West Country cave, and a Gothic crypt. Produced by Fair and mixed by Gilla Band’s Daniel Fox and Giant Swan’s Robin Stewart, the debut album i've seen a way appeared in 2023.
