Biography
Formed by Darren Ash and Martin Smith, both born in Sussex, England, Megabass originated as a side project from the Music Factory collective. That group featured Andy Pickles and Ian Morgan, the Jive Bunny members celebrated for creating megamixes aimed at nightclub DJs. A request for an entire album of remixes under the Megabass title, along with one single drawn from it for promotion, prompted the pair to record together. Their only entry on the UK charts arrived in 1990 when the single “Time To Make The Floor Burn” peaked at number 16. The track blended mixes of material by Kid N’ Play, Rebel MC, Black Box, Inner City, Technotronic and additional artists.
