Michelle Qureshi

Michelle Qureshi, a classically trained guitarist, functions as both composer and multi-instrumentalist, merging acoustic and electronic textures within her ambient new age works. Her initial full-length release, Of Light, reached listeners in 2012 through the independent Music as Metaphor label she founded. Later that year she issued Illumination, which expanded into denser sonic layers built around acoustic guitar and Native American flute. Three projects arrived in 2014—Suite Beats, Flow, and Meditations—followed by Margalla Hills the next year. Heart Dance Records issued Scattering Stars in 2016, earning it the Best Ambient Album of the Year designation from One World Music Radio. The same imprint delivered her eighth album, Seventh Wave, in 2017.
