Biography
A composer and keyboardist devoted to gentle solo piano compositions, Philip Wesley has placed recordings on multiple new age streaming and sales charts. He entered music as a career at age 20, issuing his debut LP, Finding Solace, independently in 2002. Autumn Music subsequently released several projects, opening with 2004's In a Lifetime and 2005's Comfort and Joy, the first of his Christmas albums. Dark Night of the Soul followed in 2008, an album conceived after divorce that eventually reached the Billboard New Age Catalog Albums chart. After 2012's Hope Endures he issued the retrospective collection Heart to Hands: Solo Piano Retrospective, 2002-2012 later that year.
Transcend, released on Autumn Music in 2014, examined the process of surmounting difficulties. Two years later Beyond Cloud Nine marked his first album to include instruments other than piano. String arrangements and a brighter tone throughout the songwriting shaped its purposefully romantic character. Wesley's first holiday collection, The Magic of Christmas, appeared in 2018.
