Biography
For nearly two decades the gospel ensemble MidSouth maintained a consistent presence throughout the Southern performance circuit. Multiple member departures in 1984 led to fresh recruits whose country-music backgrounds prompted a noticeable stylistic evolution. Down to Earth, released in 1989, earned a Country Album of the Year nomination from the Gospel Music Association, while Shoulder to Shoulder from 1992 received a Grammy nomination for Country Gospel Album of the Year. The group entered the Warner Alliance roster with the 1994 album Give What It Takes, followed by an eponymous release in 1996.
