Biography
Midwest Product comprises the Ann Arbor, Michigan-based trio of Chad Pratt, Ben Mullins, and Drew Schmedling. Their recordings balance intricate interplay—achieved by layering electronics over a conventional rock-band configuration—with incisive melodic hooks, taking early '80s electro and mid-'90s post-rock as simultaneous points of departure. After the group aligned with Ghostly International, a roster oriented chiefly toward dance music, the debut album Specifics appeared in mid-2002, followed by The World Series of Love in 2003.
