Biography
New York-based rock outfit Mirror Queen fuses elements of classic metal with psychedelic and stoner rock influences drawn from 1970s icons such as Blue Öyster Cult, Hawkwind, and Deep Purple. At the helm is vocalist and guitarist Kenny Kreisor, who initially launched the group in the early 2000s under the name Aytobach Kreisor before simplifying it to Kreisor. The ensemble put out multiple records while hitting the road across America and Europe alongside Atomic Bitchwax, Uli Jon Roth, and the metal stalwarts UFO. By 2011, Kreisor had joined forces with original drummer Jeremy O’Brien, bringing in guitarist Philippe Ortanez and bassist James Corallo for the first Mirror Queen album, From Earth Below. The band then tracked their sophomore effort, Scaffolds of the Sky, for the independent U.S. label TeePee Records, with the release coming in April 2015. Following additional performances at home and overseas, they completed their third studio album Verdigris, which TeePee put out in October 2017.
