Doomriders

Doomriders, based in Salem, Massachusetts, function as a side project launched by the perpetually active Nate Newton of Converge and Old Man Gloom, who handles guitar and vocals alongside his friends Chris Pupecki on guitar, Jebb Riley on bass and vocals, and Chris Bevalaqua on drums. While the members’ primary bands—There Were Wires, Blacktail, Hallraker, and Some Kind of Hate—typically demand meticulously constructed compositions, the group’s first release, the 2005 album Black Thunder, instead delivers raw, unscripted heavy rock that retains the same ferocity.
