Biography
Formed in New Jersey during November 1999, Burnt by the Sun began when ex-Human Remains drummer David Witte teamed up with guitarist John Adubato. Vocalist Michael Olender and bassist Ted Patterson came aboard not long afterward, after which their self-titled EP caught the ear of metal-focused Relapse Records. Captivated by the group’s inventive and frequently witty spin on post-hardcore extreme metal, Relapse moved quickly to sign them, resulting in the early 2002 appearance of debut full-length Soundtrack to the Personal Revolution, which also featured second guitarist Chris Rascio.
