Biography
Hailing from Gothenburg, Sweden, the throwback rock band Graveyard, reminiscent of Witchcraft and Priestess, came together in late 2006. Its founding lineup consisted of Joakim Nilsson on guitar and vocals, Truls Mörck also on guitar and vocals, Rikard Edlund on bass, and Axel Sjöberg on drums. Drawing from the influence of Cream and Black Sabbath, the group wasted no time in cutting their first demo. They soon landed a joint distribution arrangement through Tee Pee Records and Transubstans. Early 2008 brought the arrival of their debut release, the album Graveyard, after which Axel Sjöberg gave way to guitarist Jonatan Larocca-Ramm. Having shared stages with Witchcraft, Clutch, and CKY, they returned in 2011 with Hisingen Blues on Nuclear Blast. Lights Out came out the subsequent year, and Innocence & Decadence followed in 2015. The band declared their dissolution in September 2016, but this proved fleeting when a January 2017 reunion notice introduced drummer Oskar Bergenheim. Peace, issued as their fifth studio album in 2018, secured a second number one position on the Swedish charts.
