Siena Root

Siena Root, a Swedish outfit devoted to retro rock, first assembled in 1997. Their unusual name stems from Tuscany’s “warm, earthy colors,” a choice that feels oddly disconnected from the quartet’s 1970s-inspired fusion of progressive, psychedelic, and hard rock. The group’s lineup includes lead singer and organist Oskar Lundström, guitarist and vocalist KG West, bassist and vocalist Sam Riffer, and drummer Love H. Forsberg. Through extended periods of club performances and songwriting sessions, they polished their approach until it secured a contract with Rage of Achilles Records, resulting in the 2004 debut album A New Day Dawning.
