Miseration

Swedish death metal outfit Miseration originated from a collaboration between vocalist Christian Älvestam (Scar Symmetry, Incapacity, Solar Dawn, etc.) and guitarist Jani Stefanovic (Solution .45, Essence of Sorrow, Crimson Moonlight, etc.). The project merges extreme aggression with remarkable technical skill, allowing the singer to deliver both melodic cleans and guttural growls while the guitarist demonstrates instrumental mastery. On the debut record, Stefanovic also performed all bass and drum parts. Issued at the start of 2007 via the independent Swedish imprint Rivel Records, Your Demons -- Their Angels gradually gained traction within the metal scene as praise from both critics and listeners intensified, leading to a global re-release roughly twelve months afterward on Germany's LifeForce label. Around that period the lineup expanded into a full touring ensemble with the recruitment of guitarist Marcus Bertilsson, bassist Johan Ylenstrand, and drummer Rolf "Stuka" Pilve. Following the early 2009 news that Älvestam had left Scar Symmetry, conditions appeared favorable for Miseration to advance their own trajectory further.
