Mr.Rain

Born in Desenzano del Garda, Brescia, Italy in 1991, Mattia Balardi—known professionally as Mr. Rain—first encountered hip-hop during his teenage years, drawn especially to Eminem’s chart successes and the output of local Italian rappers. Once he reached eighteen, he started crafting original material and issued his debut mixtape, Time 2 Eat, in 2011. He maintained a steady pace of beat-making, track production, and performances across Italy’s major cities while preparing his first full-length project. That effort, the 2015 album Memories, arrived with the lead single “Carillon,” whose viral impact broadened his audience, filled concert venues, and ultimately secured a contract with Warner Music. In 2017, as he developed another Warner release, he issued the interim singles “I Grandi Non Piangono Mai” and “Rainbow Soda” to maintain momentum ahead of the forthcoming album.
