Gemitaiz launched his path in the 2000s as an incisive rapper and beatmaker who secured strong mainstream traction across his home country of Italy, reaching wider notice in the next decade through the Top Ten album L'unico compromesso (2013). Four chart-topping full-length releases followed, consisting of the solo sets Nonostante tutto and Davide together with the MadMan collaborations Kepler and Scatola nera. A large catalog of mixtapes plus an array of guest spots, among them turns on recordings by Don Joe & Shablo, Jake La Furia, and MACE, also factored into the artist’s sustained visibility.

Born Davide De Luca in Rome, Gemitaiz began building momentum while still a teenager in the early 2000s and delivered his debut mixtape in 2006. After signing with Honiro Label in 2009—the same year he entered the Xtreme Team collective—he progressed via the initial installments of the ongoing Quello che vi consiglio series. Joining the Tanta Roba roster run by Gué Pequeno and DJ Harsh positioned him for a number-three placement on the official Italian album chart with L'unico compromesso (2013), setting up an extended run of successes. Kepler (with MadMan, 2014), Nonostante tutto (2016), Davide (2018), and Scatola nera (also with MadMan, 2019)—the complete sequence of his studio projects through the close of the 2010s—all reached the summit of Italy’s official FIMI chart. Numerous cuts from these projects likewise entered the Top Ten of the Italian singles chart. Gemitaiz opened the following decade with QVC9 (2020), the ninth volume in the Quello che vi consiglio series. The project contained “Mama,” marking the rapper’s sixth Top Ten hit under his own name.
