Mugeez

Rashid Mugeez first gained notice as one member of the Ghanaian hip-hop duo R2Bees, which he launched with his cousin Faisal Hakeem, better known as Omar Sterling. Born and raised together in Tema, Ghana, the pair discovered their shared interest in rap during school. The duo officially formed in 2007 and soon earned strong local support, issuing their debut album Da Revolution in 2009 and the follow-up Da Revolution II in 2012. That exposure led to a nomination for Best International Act at the 2013 BET Awards. Additional R2Bees singles continued to surface in the years that followed, while Mugeez began releasing his own material and appearing as a featured artist on tracks by Criss Waddle, Mr. Eazi, and DJ Breezy. In 2017 he joined Fuse ODG and Ed Sheeran on the single “Boa Me.”
