Biography
Hailing from Oakland, California, hip-hop artist Mystic fuses poetry-infused literate rhymes with a rich, soul-infused singing delivery. She joined the Goodvibe roster, shared with Slum Village and Bahamadia, and enlisted a lineup of acclaimed underground hip-hop producers to shape her debut album, Cuts for Luck and Scars for Freedom, issued in 2001. Mystic then joined her labelmates on the Tree of Life tour throughout summer 2001 to promote the project. Dreamworks followed with a 2002 reissue that added two fresh tracks to the original tracklist.
