Nad Sylvan

Born as Hugh Erik Stewart in West Covina, California, the American-Swedish singer, composer, multi-instrumentalist, and progressive rock performer grew up in Malmö, Sweden, and adopted the stage name Nad Sylvan in 1997. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s he played in One by One, remaining just below mainstream visibility. His first solo album, The Home Recordings, appeared in 1995 under the name Chris Stewart. In 1999 the concept album The Last Housewife was issued alongside a re-titled edition of the 1995 debut, now called Blue Waters, both under the Nad Sylvan name. Sylvanite became his third release in 2003. In 2008 he joined fellow Swede Bonamici, also known as Christian Thordin, for the prog rock project Unifaun. Not long after, he co-founded Agents of Mercy together with Flower Kings frontman Roine Stolt. Sylvan joined Steve Hackett in 2012 for the Genesis Revisited projects, and in 2015 he released the narrative-driven Courting the Widow on Inside Out. His fifth studio album, The Bride Said No, followed in 2017, again through Inside Out.
