Nando Boom

Nando Boom crafts tropical music by blending Panama's traditional styles with reggae and soca beats. Fernando Brown, who began performing vocals at dances when he was ten years old, established the group in 1985 and achieved immediate success. The debut release "My Woman Thus Speaks" backed with "The Drum to Me" broke all prior sales records across Panama. Following their relocation to the United States amid Panama's political turmoil, Brown and Nando Boom sustained their influence in the scene. The ensemble earned Colombia's Caracol of the Caribbean award in 1992. They later claimed a Stefano award in Miami two years afterward.
