Biography
Emerging from the remnants of Long Island punk revivalists the Movielife, Nightmare of You took shape in 2003 when ex-Movielife guitarist Brandon Reilly assembled a melodic indie rock outfit whose pop-leaning approach diverged sharply from his earlier hardcore background. The lineup joined vocalist/guitarist Reilly with guitarist Joseph McCaffrey, bassist Ryan Heil, and drummer Sammy Siegler (ex-Rival Schools, Glassjaw). After wrapping tour commitments alongside Head Automatica, the band issued its self-titled debut on the independent East West subsidiary The Bevonshire Label in fall 2005. Additional dates followed with Men, Women & Children, Brandtson, and Rock Kills Kid, after which summer 2006 found the group sharing stages with AFI and Brand New.
