October Tide

Formed briefly by Katatonia members Fredrik Norrman on guitar and bass plus Jonas Renkse handling guitar, drums, and vocals, October Tide issued two albums, Rain Without End in 1997 and Grey Dawn in 1999, the second of which also featured vocalist Marten Hansen. Though respectable on their own terms, especially the latter, both stayed close in approach to Katatonia’s doom/death sound, which likely prompted the project’s low-key end without notable notice.
