Omar Akram

Omar, an experimental pianist, fuses distinctive musical elements from numerous Asian and European nations into an opulent and enigmatic New Age blend. His genuine grasp of these global accents arose naturally from his childhood as the son of a UN diplomat, a period marked by repeated relocations across many nations. Classical piano studies pursued amid those travels produced a versatile musician whose immersion in singular folk traditions surpassed the lengthy acquisition process most composers require. Opal Fire, his debut album, appeared in 2002.
