Biography
Deriving their moniker from Tolkien's Lord of the Rings, Rochester, NY's Orodruin channel the doom-laden legacies of Black Sabbath, Saint Vitus, and Candlemass for their sonic identity. The quartet of Mike Puleo on vocals and bass, guitarists John Gallo and Nick Tydelski, and drummer Mike Waske came together in 1998, steadily assembling demos alongside live recordings that eventually yielded their debut full-length, Epicurean Mass, issued in 2003 by independent Psychedoomelic Records. Those same early demos resurfaced the next year as the collection Claw Tower...and Other Tales of Terror, while Orodruin also shared a split release with Finnish doom gods Reverend Bizarre. Beyond the 2007 DVD The World Is a Funeral, however, the band has remained silent.
