Reverend Bizarre

Finnish doom metal outfit Reverend Bizzare drew initial influence from Saint Vitus and Cathedral when vocalist and bassist Albert Witchfinder assembled the group in 1994 inside the southern industrial community of Lohja. Guitarist Peter Vicar came aboard shortly afterward, and by the release of the 1999 demo Slice of Doom the drum chair had been filled by the memorably titled Earl of Void. Following the band’s appearance on the Doom Shall Rise tour during the winter of 2002, Reverend Bizzare issued its acclaimed debut album In the Rectory of the Bizzare Reverend. The Finnish label Spikefarm subsequently added the group to its roster, resulting in the early-2004 arrival of the follow-up effort Harbinger of Metal.
