Biography
In Indianapolis, Indiana, Apostle of Solitude formed as a doom band in 2004 when former Gates of Slumber drummer Chuck Brown assembled the lineup to handle vocals and guitar alongside Justin Avery on guitar, Brent McLellan on bass, and Corey Webb on drums. The quartet staked out its traditional doom approach, drawing from Saint Vitus, Candlemass, and Black Sabbath, through the release of the 2006 EP Embraced by the Black and the 2008 LP Sincerest Misery, though wider attention arrived only once the band joined Profound Lore and issued Last Sunrise in 2010.
