Conan

Self-described purveyors of "caveman battle doom," Liverpool, England's Conan fuse down-tuned sludge, brooding doom, epic power, and fuzzed-out stoner metal into a bottom-heavy sound. Guitarist and vocalist Jon Davis launched the group in 2006, after which an ever-changing roster of musicians issued early EPs such as 2007's Battle in the Swamp and 2010's Horseback Battle Hammer, along with various splits. The lineup eventually stabilized around Davis, bassist Chris Fielding, and drummer Paul O'Neil. O'Neil left before the band's first Napalm Records album, 2014's Blood Eagle, which instead featured Rich Lewis on drums. Two years later came Revengeance, and Existential Void Guardian followed in 2018, bringing drummer Johnny King into the fold.
