Since the late '80s, Bay Area punks the Parasites have matched the tireless pace long associated with James Brown. Through an array of 7" singles and compilation tracks on punk imprints such as Shredder, Go Kart, and Rocco, the group still managed to deliver multiple full-length albums. Shredder Records released both Pair and Punch Lines in 1994, Rat Ass Pie arrived in 1998, and in 1999 Go Kart issued the singles anthology Compost, which featured distinctive covers of the Dictators' "Loyola," the Avengers' "No Martyr," the Descendents' "Pep Talk," and Leonard Cohen's "Suzanne."
