Pat Monahan, widely recognized for fronting the rock band Train, has long built a career performing independently. Entering the world in Erie, Pennsylvania, during 1969, he relocated to California in 1993 and began delivering vocals at coffeehouses throughout the San Francisco region alongside guitarist Rob Hotchkiss. The pair expanded their lineup, adopted the name Train, and achieved breakthrough success via the 2001 release Drops of Jupiter. When the group opted for a hiatus from live dates and studio work in 2006, Monahan took an invitation to collaborate on songs with British singer/songwriter and producer Guy Chambers for a Tina Turner undertaking. That partnership endured, prompting Monahan to craft material with Chambers and additional writers while focusing on a solo project. In 2007 he issued Last of Seven through Sony.
