Born in 1950 in New Brunswick, Canada, Patsy Gallant launched her stage career by performing alongside her sisters at regional fairs. The Gallant Sisters also gained exposure through radio and television broadcasts, though Patsy departed the group in 1967 to launch a solo career. Performing in both English and French, she issued singles across the late 1960s and 1970s while concentrating much of her work on commercial jingles. Her first long-form release, the 1972 album Upon My Own, marked her album debut. Commercial success arrived in 1977 with the single “Are You Ready for Love,” the same period that saw the appearance of her first French-language album, Besoin D’Amour. Will You Give Me Your Love? arrived the next year, followed in 1979 by Greatest Hits. Amoreuse appeared in 1981.
