Biography
The Parisian electronic pair Polo & Pan have carved out a singular space that fuses pop elegance, inventive composition, and buoyant house and disco rhythms, all wrapped in stylish playfulness. Drawing from sources as varied as Maurice Ravel and electronic forerunners such as Air and Giorgio Moroder, Paul Armand-Delille (Polo) and Alexandre Grynszpan (Pan) began working together during the early 2010s, shaping a lighthearted yet refined sound rooted in club traditions while retaining a keen pop focus and eccentric touches that quickly attracted listeners through pieces like “Dorothy” and “Canopée.” Following several EPs, the duo issued their first album, the widely praised Caravelle, in 2017 and followed it with the exuberant Cyclorama four years later. Further EPs arrived in 2023, including Mumia and Carrossel Do Tempo.
Before forming the partnership, each artist had already built a solo DJ career, with Armand-Delille recording as Polocorp and Grynszpan appearing under the name Peter Pan. After crossing paths at Paris’s Le Baron club, they began blending sets and soon started writing together. Their 2013 EP Rivolta revealed Polo & Pan’s signature approach, conjuring elegant nightlife nostalgia drawn from early-20th-century sources and pairing it with sharp electro-pop and house, occasionally accented by tropical details. The Dorothy EP appeared the next year, its title track accumulating millions of streams. Additional EPs such as Isolated Beach and Nanã emerged over the following two years, culminating in the full-length Caravelle in 2017. The record achieved both critical and commercial traction, prompting a deluxe reissue the subsequent year and eventual gold certification. Polo & Pan maintained their steady output with Gengis in 2019 and Feel Good in 2020, before unveiling their second album, Cyclorama, in 2021. Its lead single “Ani Kuni” became their highest-charting release to date, reaching number nine in France and number six in Belgium. In 2023 the duo collaborated with Israeli pair Red Axes on the Mumia EP and supplied remixes for Laurent Voulzy and Antonin. Later that year they released Carrossel Do Tempo, which included contributions from Les Poppys, Isaac et Nora, and Abrão.
