Biography
French composer Thomas Roussel leads the symphonic-electronic project Prequell. The endeavor grew out of his prior work scoring runway presentations for haute couture houses such as Christian Dior, Michael Kors, Chanel, and Pigalle, blending acoustic strings with synthesizers, dance-oriented rhythms, intermittent guest vocalists, and NASA recordings of extraterrestrial audio. Its first album, The Future Comes Before, incorporated musicians from the London Symphony Orchestra along with appearances by Rae Morris, Shy Girls, and Fyfe, among others, before arriving on the Universal imprints Verve and Pantheon in fall 2017.
