Germany's Parra for Cuva, whose birth name is Nicolas Demuth, crafts moody and intricately layered electronic productions. Initial notice arrived near 2014 through the singles "Fading Nights" and a reinterpretation of Chris Isaak's "Wicked Game," both of which paired him with vocalist Anna Naklab. The latter earned platinum certification, widening his audience and paving the way for the arrival of his first full-length effort, Majouré, in 2014. Further development of his immersive, globally oriented sonic palette followed across later albums including 2016's Darwîś, 2018's Paspatou, and 2021's Juno. Additional partnerships have involved Beau Diako, Aukai, Monsoonsiren, and orbit, the last of whom contributed to the 2024 release Mimose.

Nicolas Demuth entered the world in 1991 and grew up in the Lower Saxony region of Germany, beginning classical piano study near age eleven. Jazz performance joined his activities during adolescence, after which he turned to computers to combine his piano material with hip-hop rhythms. Once high school concluded, he moved to Berlin, Germany's electronic-music center, to complete studies in audio design. The city's deep musical legacy prompted him to produce deep and soulful house under the Parra for Cuva moniker, frequently working alongside friend and vocalist Anna Naklab; his earliest outing, the Fading Nights EP, surfaced on the French imprint Délicieuse Records in mid-2013. Licensing the track "Wicked Games," a cover of the Chris Isaak original, to the prominent EDM label Spinnin' later that year elevated his profile, while the November follow-up Luhya also appeared on Délicieuse.

Releases on Traum Schallplatten emerged in 2014, the same year he aligned with Berlin's Lenient Tales label. His debut album Majouré arrived in 2015 and contained guest contributions from hip-hop artist Nieve, Casey K, and Monsoonsiren. A subsequent alliance with fellow electronic producer Jonas Lechenmayr, known as Senoy, involved travel along the Spanish coast and yielded 2016's Darwîś, after which the Mood C EP appeared the following year. Third album Paspatou, issued in 2018, incorporated appearances by May and m.lost and attracted broader notice, leading Demuth to return in 2021 with Juno. That project delved further into an eclectic fusion of acoustic and electronic textures together with worldwide musical traditions, featuring Kyson, Beau Diako, Aukai, and additional guests. The 2024 set Mimose carried a deeply atmospheric and enveloping character while showcasing repeated collaborations with orbit.
