Sailor & I

Swedish singer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Alexander Sjödin, known professionally as Sailor & I, balances emotive electronic music with an affinity for dancefloor energy. He created the alias to symbolize the concept of multiple selves, in particular the pair of inner forces he feels coexist within him. Although Sjödin started composing and tracking material while still young, he withheld his work from public ears for an extended period because of its intimate character. His initial worldwide release arrived in 2012 with the Tough Love EP on Black Butter Records. The project quickly drew international notice, which in turn generated a string of overseas performances. His follow-up EP, Turn Around, appeared in 2014 on Life and Death Records. Momentum built in 2015 as Sjödin mounted further international tours while founding his own imprint, Invention of Loneliness; the label issued two of his EPs that year, Leave the Light On and Sweat. During 2016 he completed work on his debut full-length, The Invention of Loneliness, titled after the label he had launched the year before, and the album reached stores in early 2017.
