Biography
Born to the iconic Earl Scruggs, Randy Scruggs built a long-running career as a singer and songwriter who ranked among Nashville’s most in-demand producers and session musicians. Over several decades his work encompassed collaborations with Waylon Jennings, George Strait, and Emmylou Harris, beginning with the 1970 album All the Way Home that he made with his brother Gary. His first solo album, the all-star Crown of Jewels, appeared in 1998. Scruggs died in April 2018 at age 64.
