RDX

In 2006 the dancehall duo RDX came together, built around vocalist Andre Bedward, who records as Delomar, and deejay/rapper Carlton Williams, who performs as Renigade. The pair had grown up as friends in Kingston, Jamaica, and both first appeared with the dancehall collective Xsytment before leaving to launch RDX. Their breakthrough arrived quickly through the high-energy 2007 single “Dance,” which paved the way for a run of major dancehall tracks that included “Dancer’s Anthem” in 2008, “Bend Over” in 2009, “Broad Out” in 2012, and “Bum” in 2014. Continuing to issue a steady flow of singles that fused pop hooks with rap-inflected dancehall, the duo carried their music to wider audiences through frequent international tours. Although known chiefly for singles, RDX issued the full-length album To the World in 2008 and returned in late 2017 with the thirteen-track set Level Up, highlighted by the single “Shake Your Bam Bam.”
