Biography
Robin Meade built a prominent presence across the worlds of beauty pageants, television news, and occasional pop-country music, navigating the changing landscape of twenty-first-century media with evident strategic precision. She entered the world on April 21, 1969, in New London, Ohio, later studying at both Malone College and Ashland University before earning her degree in 1991, majoring in programming and performance while minoring in political science. Her pageant work brought the Miss Ohio title in 1992, followed by a Top Ten finalist placement at the Miss America competition. She launched her on-air work at WMFD-TV in Mansfield, Ohio, then progressed through outlets in Columbus and Cleveland before securing an anchor role on WSN-TV’s Today in Florida morning program. From there she advanced to the NBC station WMAQ-TV in Chicago, where she anchored or co-anchored morning and weekend newscasts and appeared frequently during the affiliate’s 1996 Olympics coverage. Her next move took her to CNN Headline News—later rebranded as HLN—in Atlanta, Georgia, where she hosted and anchored Morning Express with Robin Meade while also serving among the hosts of Ask Oprah’s All Stars on the newly launched Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN). In 2009 she published the motivational book Morning Sunshine!: How to Radiate Confidence and Feel It Too, and two years afterward she issued the country-pop album Brand New Day through the Somerset Entertainment label.
