Biography
Rosa Linn crafts warm adult pop built around an expressive vocal range and an emotionally resonant songwriting voice. Emerging from Armenia, the singer issued her first Stateside release, the single “KING,” via her Columbia-affiliated imprint in 2021, then scored a global breakout the next year with the folk-tinged breakup track “SNAP,” Armenia’s entry in the Eurovision Song Contest. A year later the song appeared on her Columbia debut EP, Lay Your Hands Upon My Heart.
Born Roza Kostandyan in Vanadzor, Armenia, she began piano lessons at six and started composing as a preteen. At thirteen she entered Armenia’s Junior Eurovision selection with the original song “Gitem.” In 2020 she became part of the Los Angeles-based Nvak Collective, whose label issued her first official single, “KING,” the following year. March 2022 brought selection as Armenia’s representative for the Eurovision Song Contest in Turin, Italy; she performed “SNAP” in both the semifinals and final, finishing twentieth. Released on Nvak/Columbia, the track benefited from viral social-media traction and reached charts worldwide, topping the Belgian singles listing while climbing to number sixty-seven on the U.S. Hot 100. By year’s end she had signed directly with Columbia Records, issued the duet “WDIA (Would Do It Again)” with Duncan Laurence, and made her American television debut on The Late Late Show with James Corden.
June 2023 saw “SNAP” included on Rosa Linn’s first major-label EP, Lay Your Hands Upon My Heart. Produced in collaboration with Grammy-winning songwriter Rick Nowels, whose past credits include work with Madonna and Lana Del Rey, the set also contained a cover of Stevie Nicks’ “If I Were You,” a composition Nicks co-wrote with Nowels. That same month Linn opened select North American dates on Ed Sheeran’s +–=÷x Tour and later shared bills with Young the Giant and Milky Chance.
