A Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter and visual artist focused on introspective synth-driven indie pop, Ella Vos burst into widespread attention after her 2016 single "White Noise" spread rapidly online. That momentum carried into her debut album Words I Never Said in 2017 and the engaging 2019 EP Watch & Wait, both of which broadened her audience. After the reflective second album Turbulence arrived in 2020, she joined electronic producer Kaskade on a pair of tracks and continued issuing solo material such as the 2022 release "Glitter and Tears" and 2023's "Mindreader."

Classically trained on piano, Vos first entered the pop sphere as keyboardist for BØRNS. The arrival of her son in 2015 prompted her decision to pursue a solo path. Initial notice arrived when she provided vocals for Just a Gent's 2016 song "Rolling Dice," after which she launched her own career with "White Noise," a hypnotic downtempo pop piece drawn from the experience of early motherhood. The track quickly amassed millions of streams and drew favorable reviews. Her next single, the 2017 sociopolitical statement "You Don't Know About Me," also attracted listeners, and both tracks formed the core of Words I Never Said. She subsequently toured nationally and performed at Bonnaroo. A lymphoma diagnosis in 2018 shaped several songs on the 2019 EP Watch & Wait, whose material was later reworked into a remixed edition as she maintained ties to electronic sounds while exploring more organic pop forms.

Turbulence, released in 2020, presented surprisingly upbeat songs shaped by periods of depression and divorce. Following further collaborations with Kaskade, Vos returned to solo work with 2022's "Glitter and Tears" and "Mountain." Into 2023 she issued the pulsing "Mindreader" alongside the defiant "Salty," a joint effort with Tei Shi.
