Originating from Germany yet rooted in Los Angeles, Noah McBeth records as NoMBe and crafts songs as a vocalist, composer, and studio architect whose sound centers on airy, stripped-down contemporary R&B. His first wave of notice arrived via the 2015 release “California Girls,” which opened the door to the full-length They Might’ve Even Loved Me arriving in 2018.

Raised in Heidelberg, NoMBe entered a household steeped in the arts, with a father active as drummer, producer, and songwriter and a mother employed as a fashion model; he is also the godson of Chaka Khan. Classical repertoire filled his early listening, paired with piano lessons throughout childhood. While absorbing those lessons he simultaneously delved into pop, dance, and R&B textures, testing his hand at both lyric writing and track construction. After a period based in New York, he settled permanently in Los Angeles in 2013 and began issuing music under his own name. The 2015 single “California Girls” again drew initial listeners. In 2017 he previewed his debut album by unveiling one new track each month; among the cuts that reached They Might’ve Even Loved Me were “Wait,” “Young Hearts,” and “Freak Like Me.” The monthly series extended into 2018 with the addition of “Drama,” which featured Big Data. After the album’s arrival NoMBe continued issuing standalone recordings in 2020, among them “Paint California,” “Prototype,” and “Heels.”
